Raising Awareness of SEND Services in your Local Area

An introduction to our wonderful ‘Parent Champions’ Zeynep Sertkaya, Angelica Rowlan and Geeta Desai who are volunteers in a new scheme within Achieving for Children called the SEND Parent Champions scheme. This is led nationally by the charity organisation Coram. As parents of children who attend Strathmore school they will be available across all campus events to talk with at anytime.

Our SEND Parent Champions are able to share information and advice based on their own experiences and are supported to inform other families with a child or young person with special educational needs or a disability about useful services in their area.

They will be able to;

● Be a point of contact for other SEND parents

● Liaise with parents and the school

● Help with signposting to SEND parents about local services

● Bring SEND families together in community settings

● plus more!!
