The Strathmore Summer BBQ, held on Sunday 13th July in the afternoon, was a fantastic celebration of summer and a wonderful send-off for Sarah. It was our biggest Friends of Strathmore School event yet, with over 250 guests joining us for the first time at The Russell campus — a venue that provided plenty of space for everyone to relax, connect, and enjoy the day.

Guests enjoyed delicious food, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, lively performances, and plenty of fun entertainment throughout the day. Entertainment included face-painting, SEN-Unity activities, a magician, balloon modelling, a Punch and Judy show, and an amazing duo performing songs on request, which really got everyone into the swing of things — perfect for a Sunday afternoon!

It was a true joy to collaborate with TAG Youth Club and see our wider community connect so warmly with the school.

We are immensely grateful to our local businesses who supported our raffle, including: Fortuny London, Click Studios, Ted Lasso, Athena Beauty, Shoe Station, Richmond Theatre, Sher Hair Studio (True Medi Spa), Sporting Feet, Harry Potter Studio, Guignot Beauty, and Ham House.

A special thank you goes to our incredible BBQ team for cooking up all those tasty burgers and sausages, to the Broughton family for keeping everyone refreshed at the bar, to Pegasus Class for running the cake stall, to our fantastic kitchen helpers, and to everyone who helped set up and pack away. It truly was a fantastic team effort, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

The feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive, with guests commenting on what a successful and memorable day it was. We’re so grateful to hear how much you all enjoyed it!
