S Club

What is S Club?

S Club is Strathmore’s after school club, which runs from 3.30 until 5pm on Monday. S Club is run on each of our three campuses which means more pupils can access this club. During S Club pupils engage in group activities and have a snack, which they bring from home where we encourage snack time to be a social environment for pupils.

Activities

At S Club we provide a range of exciting activities, depending on the interests of the children attending. These may include:

  • sensory stories
  • cooking
  • parachute games
  • soft play
  • sensory room
  • art
  • playground activities
  • messy play
  • relaxation and massage
  • sensory songs
  • sports and games
  • dancing
  • free play with a choice of toys, for example construction, role play and sensory toys.

At the Strathmore at Grey Court campus, we are lucky to have Volunteer Inclusion Programme (VIP) Volunteers from Grey Court School join us which is helping to build our pupils’ social skills and confidence in meeting new people.

Benefits

There are many benefits to S Club, including the opportunity to take part in new and exciting activities, as well as social benefits, as pupils have a chance to play and socialise with pupils from other classes as well as our volunteers. Furthermore, S Club provides respite for our pupils’ parents and families.

What do parents think?

“My daughter loves all the fun activities she does at S Club, like playing games outside, soft play, cooking etc. I also love it as it gives me a little one to one time with my son!”

“S Club is an excellent opportunity to teach my son that the routines can change. One day a week he is doing different activities at school. It’s brilliant.”

“They explore more and bond with friends.”

“My daughter really enjoyed going to S Club and liked it very much. The activities are varied and fun. It gives the parents a break as the children come back home later on school transport. The children get to spend time together outside of the classroom.”

S Club bookings

A booking form is sent to all families at the beginning of each term and we aim to accommodate as many pupils as possible, however spaces may be limited so we recommend to apply as soon as you receive the form.

S Club costs £10 per session and transport home on the school bus is available to Richmond borough pupils at an additional cost of £5 per session.

If you have any questions, please contact the school office or via your child’s home/school diary and we will be happy to help.
